Conditions We Treat
The Pediatric Sleep Center is a service of the Pulmonary and Cystic Fibrosis Center at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford. We provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of conditions such as:
- Sleep disordered breathing (Obstructive sleep apnea, primary snoring, noisy breathing)
- Apnea of infancy
- Asthma and nocturnal cough
- Apparent-Life-Threatening-Event (ALTE)
- Chronic lung disease
- Central sleep apnea
- Obesity hyperventilation syndrome
- Behavioral problems (bedtime struggles, night wakings)
- Behavioral and cognitive problems that may be worsened by sleep apnea, such as ADHD
- Upper airway resistance syndrome
- Restless leg syndrome
- Rhythmic movement disorders (periodic limb movement disorder, head banging)
- Epilepsy or other seizures that may be influenced by nocturnal respiratory problems
- Circadian rhythm disorders and sleep schedule abnormalities
- Restless sleep
- Parasomnias (sleepwalking, confusional arousal, sleep terrors, sleep enuresis and nightmares)
- Narcolepsy and hypersomnias not due to narcolepsy
