The proposed POC will be connected to the second level of the Milpitas BART Station Parking Garage on one end, span Montague Expressway and land on the north side of Montague Expressway. Although the parking garage may not be open twenty-four hours a day, twenty-four hour access from the POC through the garage and down to the west entrance will be required. The Communication Network Backbone Contract consists of establishing a communication link between the operations control center (OCC) located at 101 Younger Drive and VTA’s administration offices at 3331 North First Street (normally called the River Oaks Complex) and the new BART Extension into Santa Clara County.
The work will be installing a new fiber optic line within the VTA light rail corridor along Capitol Avenue, Tasman Drive and North First Street, using the existing communication ductbank. This fiber optic line is to connect systems type elements (CCTV, SCADA Access Control, etc.) located at the two BART Station Campus areas so controls and data collection can occur at River Oaks and OCC. Work will also include constructing the new Montague LRT Station communication room (approximately 33’ x 15’) at ground level, below the LRT viaduct. Contractor will be subject to restrictions to ensure safety and the continuing operations of the yard and shop and the light rail system.

The project scope of work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for the removal and replacement of two (2) HVAC package units, including but not limited to, all associated structural, ducting, gas, and electrical modifications as necessary. All Work will include any adapter curbs for the existing roof penetrations and duct placement or sleepers and other mechanical fastening devices as required for proper installation. All new equipment will integrate with the existing Metasys BAC system.

In light of recent events involving the City of Mountain View’s North Bayshore Precise Plan “Bonus FAR Application”, VTA would like to confirm the following:
• VTA is NOT extending the deadline for proposal submissions; the deadline is March 27, 2015
• VTA remains confident that the designated FAR (including Bonus FAR) for a proposed project can be achieved through a separate approval process with the City of Mountain View if appropriate transportation improvement contributions are included.
• VTA understands that the City of Mountain View may revaluate whether residential uses should be included in the North Bayshore Precise Plan. However, the existing “Core” designation for the development opportunity already allows for viable development opportunities without a residential component.
