Gallery of Pests

Pests are insects that are often considered harmful to plant material, cause problems with the overall health of a plant, or leave something undesirable behind, such as honeydew from aphids or fuzzy cocoons from tussock caterpillars. Here at Stanford University, we begin with an IPM (Integrated Pest Management) approach to minimize pests if they have exceeded an acceptable threshold so that the balance of nature can be upheld. The photos in this Gallery of Pests are taken from the University of California, Davis, IPM website; a great resource for additional information.
