Where can you learn about child nutrition, quantum mechanics, creativity or the finance of retirement—from Stanford faculty and instructors—for free? Stanford Massive Online Open Courses (MOOCs), which are classes conducted virtually through online platforms such as Coursera, iTunesU and OpenEdX, a majority of them free and open to the public. Try in-session courses for live lectures and discussions from Stanford professors or participate in self-study courses at your own pace.

For those interested in professional education, tuition-based Stanford courses for credit in law, business and engineering are available for licensed professionals, as well as occasional free non-credit courses for the general public.
