Infrastructure Delivery Group
What we do
The Infrastructure Delivery Group develops, implements and manages centrally-funded computing services provided to the University community. These services include:
- Authentication: Kerberos, Active Directory, WebAuth and RADIUS
- Identity Management: Shibboleth and Guest Accounts
- Directory Services: OpenLDAP and Active Directory
- Web Services: www.stanford.edu, community web spaces, web application installers, CGI, MySQL, and vanity website URLs
- Email & Calendaring: University Email, Calendar service, Mailing List service, Secure Email, Spam and Virus filtering, and Mail Routing
- Global File System: AFS, WebAFS
- Systems Management: BigFix
- Whole Disk Encryption: PGP
The Infrastructure Delivery Group strives to offer services that are scalable, secure, foundational, and accessible to the widest possible cohort of University community members. To ensure efficient use of University resources, the group maintains a combination of vendor-provided solutions, locally-developed software, and open source software.
We maintain relationships with the vendors and open source communities that support the software we run. We look to contribute back to those open source projects and influence product direction with our vendors. We are are also committed to making locally-developed software available to the world as free software.
