Designed specifically for the clinician, it finds clinical evidence fast with Lane's relevance ranked article results from PubMed, UpToDate, Cochrane, DARE, BMJ and more. Our clinical query assistant gives you MeSH suggestions as you type to quickly help you write good clinical questions.
EBP experts use PICO (Patient, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome) to develop answerable patient-centered questions.
Most people search by using very simple queries. By importing terms from your PICO question to your literature search, you can more effectively hone in on clinical research pertinent to your patient's problem.

Bioresearch Search
This search configuration sends your search string to PubMed plus over 200 other bioresearch information sources including: citation databases, clinical trial databases, electronic journal publishers, experimental protocols, funding sources and patent databases.
History Search
History search configuration sends your search string to Lane Catalog and several other internal systems Lane curators have been building references to our historical collections and Stanford Archives.
Curators use a uniform set of tags to categorize the items in the collection (e.g., articles, Books, Chapters, Events, Finding Aids, Images, Journals, Moving Images, Objects, Organizations, People, Theses, Wilson SoM History by Dr. Wilson).
Bassett Anatomy Search
Bassett Anatomy Search draws from a 3-D photographic images database of anatomical images of the human body.
The database is named after Dr. David Bassett, a professor of anatomy at Stanford Medical School, pioneered many innovations in dissection. Beginning in 1948, working in collaboration with an early 3-D photographer, they compiled a 24-volume Stereoscopic Atlas of Human Anatomy.
In 2008 Lane library catalogued the 1,547 three-dimensional photographic images of human anatomy and in early 2009 introduced two dimensional versions of all those images on our website.
