Assistant/Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering (broad area search)

The Department of Electrical Engineering at Stanford University (http://ee.stanford.edu/) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty appointment at the junior level (Assistant or untenured Associate Professor) in the broadly defined field of electrical and computer engineering. The department is especially interested in candidates in computer architecture, embedded systems, autonomous systems, and energy systems. Priority, however, will be given to the overall originality and promise of the candidate’s work over any specific area of specialization.

Applicants should have an earned Ph.D., evidence of the ability to pursue an independent program of research, a strong commitment to both graduate and undergraduate teaching, and the ability to initiate and conduct research across disciplines. A successful candidate will be expected to teach courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels and to build and lead a team of graduate students in Ph.D. research.

Applications should include a brief research and teaching plan, a detailed resume including a publications list, and the names and email addresses of at least five references.

Applications will be accepted through December 15, 2015.  Apply

Demonstrated competencies include: analog circuits, digital systems, and continuous- and discrete-time signal processing. A strong “hands on” project-based experience is particularly desirable. The candidate is also expected to provide undergraduate student advising and to help coordinate periodic programmatic reviews and the preparation of material thereof.

Applicants should have a strong commitment to and demonstrated aptitude for excellent teaching. All candidates must hold a PhD degree in electrical engineering or a closely related discipline and have a minimum of five (5) years teaching experience at a university or a college with a strong EE program.
