The O Chair

By Jenna Wisch in ME 203 Design and Manufacturing Autumn 2015

Materials

steel, bungee cord, polypropylene rope

Processes

TIG/oxy-acetylene welding, tube bending, machining

Design Goals

I wanted to create a piece of furniture that was as fun as it is comfortable and practical.

Challenges

My greatest challenges were cutting the fishmouths that connect the legs to the chair face, fixturing the parts before welding, and working with circular tubing in general.
