Information Flows in Manufacturing under SAP R/3
Provides an overview of the information flows in a manufacturing organization that uses R/3, an integrated suite of enterprise management software packages offered by SAP AG. General Equipment Corp. is assumed to have implemented three modules of R/3–sales and distribution (SD), production planning (PP), and materials management (MM). Follows the order fulfillment process from order generation through product delivery, describing the way R/3 is used to guide and monitor each activity. Many figures from the R/3 manual are included to help give readers an accurate understanding of the interaction between company personnel and the information system throughout the process.
