Division of Child Neurology - Clinical Service

The Division of Child Neurology provides clinical care through Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital (LPCH) and Santa Clara Valley Medical Center (SCVMC). Together, the two hospitals host over a dozen faculty members from the Division of Child Neurology. These physicians see patients with common complaints such as headaches, seizures, and weakness, as well as rare and complex conditions such as brain tumors, spinal muscular atrophy, refractory epilepsy, and neurodegenerative disease. The Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital is a tertiary, academic children’s hospital with 272 beds. The Child Neurology service at LPCH sees over 750 inpatients a year. The Pediatric Neurology service at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center has the busy outpatient clinics one would expect for a county hospital in the 10th most populous county in the United States. Over 10,000 pediatric outpatient visits are made annually to LPCH and SCVMC combined.
