Introduction to Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction
with Sarah Meyer, MA

We can't always change our circumstances, but we can change the way we relate to them. By practicing curious, gentle, and precise attention to the present moment we literally re-wire our brains and enable ourselves to live with high function, low stress, and open hearts. In this workshop we will discuss current research around these ideas and utilize practical, accessible, universal skills to develop mindfulness in everyday life."

Sarah completed her graduate degree in Counseling and Health Psychology from Santa Clara University where she specialized in stress and mindfulness. She is a BeWell Advisor, teaches Mindfulness-‐Based Stress Reduction for the HIP and has worked in university settings as an educator, counselor, and coach for the last twelve years.

Wisdom Therapy: Gaining Wisdom Sooner Rather Than Later and Applying It Towards Stress and Anger Reduction in Personal and Professional Relationships
with Shani Robins, PhD

Our relationships, work, and health can be stressful or fulfilling. Wise decisions in
life lead to greater happiness, success, and well-being. Less-wise perspectives and
decisions lead to anger, job setbacks, relationship conflicts, anxiety, stress, and
hypertension. Gaining wisdom can take many decades of learning from painful and
costly mistakes.

Wisdom Therapy integrates empirically supported best practices from both
Western psychological science, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy and
emotional intelligence, and from Eastern traditions, such as humility, mindfulness
meditation, empathy, compassion, and gratitude. It is a scientifically established,
comprehensive and practical program that has identified these wisdom skills and
the practical methods for gaining wisdom sooner rather than later.
