How do we keep people healthy without having it cost an arm and a leg? What role should technology play in the future of health care? As initiator of the eHealth Initiative and Leadership in Global Health Technology Initiative (LIGHT), Ticia Gerber is working across six continents to bridge the public, private, and social sectors. Host Tim Zak conducts an audio interview with her about what it means to create a dialogue on these questions between the developed and developing world. Gerber discusses the challenges associated with creating an electronic health information infrastructure to support better health and health care, as well as issues such as pandemics, bioterrorism, and infomatics. She also shares her experiences managing conflicting interests.
