Bio
Marissa N. Duswalt is a registered dietitian nutritionist and Lecturer at the Graduate School of Business, where she teaches a course examining the intersection of policy, consumer attitudes, and nutritional science. Her major areas of interest are health literacy, behavioral science, and population health. Marissa is the Administrative Director for Patient and Family Education at Stanford Health Care. She served at the U.S. Department of Agriculture and on The White House staff of First Lady Michelle Obama as Associate Director of the Let’s Move! initiative. She is a Truman Scholar, recognized nationally for her policy innovation, public service commitment and leadership in health education and childhood obesity. Marissa received her BS in Nutrition with Special Honors from The University of Texas at Austin, where she also earned a BA in Plan II Honors Liberal Arts, graduating Phi Beta Kappa and as a Dean’s Honors Graduate. She earned her MBA from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business.
