Nominate Speakers for the 2016-2017 Seminars

Speakers are chosen based on a variety of criteria, including number of nominations, potential for broad appeal, and the recent history of speakers at Stanford. We try to invite speakers who haven't visited Stanford in the past 5 years. We encourage you to nominate women and under-represented minority scientists. Please submit up to 5 nominations.
Nominators often serve as hosts for the invited speakers during their visit. As such, they are able to enjoy significant time with the speaker throughout the day and dinner with the speaker funded by the Stanford Neurosciences Institute and a few Stanford faculty members. Hosts also arrange meetings for the speaker with relevant Stanford faculty throughout the day of the speaker's visit, and introduce the speaker before the seminar. Nominating a speaker does not commit you to hosting.

Stanford Neurosciences Institute Seminar Series
The Stanford Neurosciences Institute Seminar Series sponsors leading scientists from across the globe presenting topics spanning the neurosciences arena, including cutting edge imaging, neuro-engineering, computational approaches, theory, translational neuroscience, human neuroscience and basic neurobiology. The seminar also provides a place where our diverse neurosciences community can regularly come together to hear about new discoveries, techniques, and ideas. The lineup of speakers has been consistently excellent and relevant to our neurosciences community because the speakers were nominated by you, our community.
There are opportunities for graduate students to have lunch with the speaker, and for faculty to meet with and/or attend dinner with the speaker.
The Stanford NeuWrite West journalists interview each speaker before their seminar and publish podcasts of these NeuroTalks online.
Seminars are usually held on Thursdays at 12:00 noon in James H. Clark Center Auditorium, unless otherwise indicated.
