What is RSS?

Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is a standard way to send updates of regularly changing web content. The Air District’s standard feeds are usually updated every day. The orange RSS icon shows that an RSS feed is available.

Standard Feeds

Spare the Air Alert Status (RSS)

The Air District declares Spare the Air Alerts on days when unhealthy air quality is predicted. This feed shows the Spare the Air status each day.

Air Quality Forecast (RSS)

Each day, the Air District issues a forecast that predicts air pollution levels in the Bay Area for the coming five-day period. This forecast uses the U.S. EPA's Air Quality Index scale.

Open Burn Status (RSS)

Before declaring a Burn Day, the District checks weather and air quality to predict the chances that smoke will affect human health. This feed sends daily messages about when and where the allowable types of fires can burn.

Audio and Video Feeds
