Open Data San José (BETA)

The City's Open Data website is in the BETA phase, giving users access to a number of data sets that are now available online. Visit Open Data San José often as more features are added in the coming months.

These city data sets range from unemployment rates to average daily traffic.

The Open Data website is broken down into eight sections: Explore San José, Living in the City, Neighborhood Services, Getting Around, Public Safety, Make It Work/Utilities & Infrastructure, Permits and Development Services, and Transparency and Accountability. Financial Transparency Portal

In an effort to enhance transparency in financial reporting, the City of San José is offering an interactive reporting tool that allows the public to explore the City's financial data online.

The Financial Transparency Portal provides two reports with different data. The first report compares actual performance to the budget, while the second report allows users to drill down actual financial data at a more detailed level. At this time, the site provides only raw financial data for users to explore.

Curbside recycling: what's recyclable?

Four companies help the City of San José to collect your garbage, recycling, and yard trimmings.

When using curbside recycling, remember to: empty and scrape all containers, flatten cartons and boxes, placing them inside your cart, and secure shredded paper and textiles inside a clear plastic bag.
