San José has hundreds of unique and breath-taking venues perfect for an outside day. Visit one of San José’s 200+ parks, hike along 54 miles of scenic trails or catch a trout at Lake Cunningham Park. All this and more is just a short drive away.
 
Dog Parks
There are many dog park locations all over the city of San José. Some features include dog height water fountains, separate smaller and larger park areas, paved and landscaped areas. We also offer obedience classes for your furry friends!

Disc Golf
Kelley Park is home to San José's largest Disc Golf course. Experience the rush of our 18 hole course in the beautiful outdoor setting of Kelley Regional Park. Our course is environmentally sound, open year-round and can be enjoyed immediately by all ages. discgolf.jpg

Fishing
Lake Cunningham is stocked with rainbow trout, large mouth bass, channel catfish and an assortment of sun fish. There is no charge for fishing; however, all California Fishing Laws apply. Fishing licensees are required for all persons 16 years of age older. Please, no live bait except for worms.

Sailing & Paddle Boats
Lake Cunningham Regional Park offers several summer sailing programs. These programs teach new sailors the basics of small boat handling and offer sailors with some experience to sharpen their skills. Sailing camps run Monday through Friday with both basic and intermediate camps seasonally.

Skate Parks & Bike Parks
The City of San José is home to six public skate parks, including California's largest skate park, Lake Cunningham Regional Skate Park featuring the world's largest cradle, tallest vert wall, and largest full pipe, LCRSP offers a wide variety of terrain for all skill levels. Learn more about LCRSP

Calabazas Park features the largest city-funded BMX course of its kind in the Bay Area. The park and the BMX course are open one hour after sunrise and closes one hour after sunset; however, the course will remain closed if the ground is deemed too wet for usage. Learn more about Calabazas
