Cesar Chavez Study
The United States Congress directed the National Park Service to conduct a Cesar Chavez Special Resource Study of sites that are significant to the life of Cesar Chavez and the farm labor movement in the western United States. The study will recommend whether the sites meet the criteria for listing on the National Register, designation as a national historic landmark, or inclusion in the national park system, and will consider a range of approaches to resource protection and public use and enjoyment.

Historic Report Guidelines
To more closely align historic reports with the City's Historic Preservation Ordinance, Revised Guidelines for the Preparation of Historic Reports have been prepared to suggest ways to make these reports easier to understand. For development projects proposing to affect historic resources, applicants should use these revised guidelines in the preparation of historic reports.

Mid-Century Context Statement
At the request of the Preservation Action Council of San José, PAST Consultants, LLC., have developed a Mid-Century Context Statement for San José with funding provided by the San José Redevelopment Agency Strong Neighborhoods Initiative program. This context statement documents San José's contributions to California Modernism, and focuses on resources built between 1935 and 1975. The document provides a history of the development of the City of San José between the years 1920 and 1975, delineates architectural styles, historic themes and associated property types, and catalogues local practitioners.
