The New Student Orientation Team invites you to participate in one of the most energetic and rewarding days of the year: Move-In Day for Freshmen and Transfer Students! Move-In Day this year will be Tuesday, September 20, 2016.
Move-In Volunteers
As Move-In Volunteers, you will carry suitcases and boxes, meet new students and families, and enjoy the energy that comes with the first day of New Student Orientation. It starts with a Kickoff Breakfast (optional) for volunteers at 7:00 a.m. in Wilbur Dining Hall. Volunteers will check in and start work from 7:45 a.m. until about 11:00 a.m. (or 12:00 noon if you'd like to stay longer). The time goes by quickly! Note: If you are already a part of the 2016 NSO Team – OV, CC, Faces of Community cast/crew, The Real World: Stanford cast/crew, Parent Dinner performer, etc. – you do not need to register as a volunteer as you will already be helping with move-in as part of your NSO commitment.
Move-In Volunteer registration for NSO 2016 will begin in early summer.
Check-In Volunteers
If you'd like to participate on this special day but can’t handle the physical work of a move-in volunteer, sign up to be a Check-In Volunteer and work with Student Housing staff to distribute room keys and SUID cards to new students at the check-in tables for each residence. All Check-In Volunteers need to be full-time Stanford employees. New volunteers are required to attend a 30-minute training before September 20; returning volunteers will receive a "refresher" PowerPoint training guide via email.
