Clinical Informatics
Stanford Children’s Health utilizes a fully functional, completely integrated electronic health record system across our hospitals and clinics. Given our role as hospitalists and our unique practice within the hospital setting, it is only natural that we are deeply involved in clinical informatics activities. Whether working on a multidisciplinary team to ensure efficient order sets development, creating safer medication orders, or developing better documentation, there are many systems which require the input of our physician informaticists. We are happy to have the Chief Medical Information Officer (Christopher Longhurst, MD) for Stanford Children's Health, as well as one of the medical directors of Clinical Informatics (Julie Pantaleoni, MD) as division members. Dr. Longhurst also serves as the program director for the nation’s first ACGME-accredited fellowship in clinical informatics.
