My Search Series Coordinator

What is the My Search Series?

  • A maximum of 12 students share an intimate lunch with a Stanford faculty member or staff person who is asked to share a transformative moment from their life.

Who are you?

  • A student who is curious, personable, excited by new ideas, organized, & detail-oriented
  • A student with 3-5 hours per week to devote to this project
  • A student willing and eager to use their student networks & think creatively about what kinds of Stanford students would be interested in specific opportunities

What will you do?

  • Find a Stanford faculty member or staff person who has a story, a lesson, or an idea that relates to a Jewish value and/or narrative (this person does not have to be Jewish)
  • Invite this Stanford community member to come to Hillel to tell their story to an intimate group of students paired with lunch
  • Talk to peers to feel out what fellow students are craving to hear and learn about
  • Decide on a topic for the lunch and what will follow "My Search For" (eg. My Search for Meaning, My Search for Impact, My Search for Justice, My Search for Peace, etc.)
  • Plan three lunches per quarter
  • Design kosher menu, order food
  • Publicize event info and reach out to relevant student communities
  • Track participation and participant feedback over time to learn how it can be improved
  • Commit to work 3-5 hours a week
  • Check in regularly with your mentor (Lia)
