Dear Colleagues,

We would like to welcome everyone to the 2021 Byers Young Investigators Research Conference (BYIRC), which will occur virtually over two days:  Saturday, April 10, 2021, and Saturday, April 24, 2021, from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM Pacific Time on each day. 

Undergraduate and medical students, residents, graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, clinical fellows, visiting scholars, and other members-in-training from all laboratories and research teams at the Byers Eye Institute at Stanford are welcome and encouraged to submit abstracts that reflect their work.  All presentations will be in oral format; there will be no poster presentations.

To foster opportunities for our young investigators to gain experience in planning scientific congresses, BYIRC will be organized mainly by our young colleagues.  However, all sessions will be moderated by faculty members of the Byers Eye Institute at Stanford University, who will facilitate the discussion among presenters and attendees.  

We encourage undergraduate and medical students, residents, graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, clinical fellows, and visiting scholars who have been conducting research in the Department of Ophthalmology and at Byers to submit abstracts  to showcase their work.  All abstracts must be submitted by Sunday, March 28, 2021 to be considered for presentation.
