For those of you staying at or near SLAC, there is a wide range of dining options available nearby. We have a café and Starbucks kiosk onsite, Sharon Park shopping center within reasonable walking distance, and the Menlo Park and Palo Alto downtowns are a short bus or car ride away. If you’re conducting research onsite late at night and aren’t able to get out and about, there are also a number of places that will deliver to SLAC.

Below are a few of the dining options to get you started.

SLACafé

The new SLACafé is open for breakfast 6:30-8:30 am and for lunch 11:30 am-2:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Grab ‘n’ go items, hot and cold beverages and bakery items are available throughout the day.  The SLACafé is located on the second floor of the new Science and User Support Building (SUSB) which is directly across from the SLAC Main Gate and across from the Guest House.

Starbucks Kiosk at SLAC

A Starbucks kiosk is located near the Guest House for weekday walk-up coffee, breakfast, snacks and lunch. The kiosk is open from 6 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday. You can phone 650-234-8187 if you would like to order ahead.

Stanford Campus

The Marguerite Shuttle provides service to and from the Stanford campus, which has many dining and café options.

Local Restaurant Delivery

Local restaurants can deliver to the SLAC Main Gate or Guest House. Deliveries are not available to the beam lines, but Users can pick their orders up from the Guest House. Below are a few options our guests use:

• Pizza My Heart - Pizza (will deliver to SLAC for large orders)
• Doordash - Online order and delivery service from local restaurants
• Waiters on Wheels - Online order and delivery service from local restaurants

• Eric's Gourmet - Located at 325 Sharon Park Drive in Menlo Park, Eric's offers SLAC employees a discount through their "frequent buyer" program. Ask for a frequent buyer sandwich card. Show your badge when buying a sandwich to get two stamps on the card, instead of the usual single stamp. After five purchases, you’ll get a free sandwich.
• Luttickens - Located at 3535 Alameda de las Pulgas in Menlo Park, Luttickens offers SLAC employees a free fountain drink and refills with the purchase of a sandwich when you show your badge.
• Portola Kitchen - Located at 3130 Alpine Road in Portola Valley, Portola Kitchen offers SLAC employees a 10 percent discount when you show your badge.
