Pieter-Jan Stas

Physics MS, ‘21

SkolTech, Moscow, Russia

"This has been an enriching experience, both academically and personally. The research represented well my interests in renewable energy and energy storage, as well as quantum physics. I also had a lot of fun outside of my working experience. I visited Sergiev Posad, a monastery complex outside of Moscow, and visited many factories-turned-art-galleries throughout Moscow. I met many local students and experienced for a short time the Moscow
student life."

Faith Harron

Mechanical Engineering, '20

SkolTech, Moscow, Russia

"I was able to partake in a unique program, one of the first and only of its kind: a dual internship in a Russian lab (for
me, the Energy Lab at Skoltech) combined with Russian language learning through the nine weeks I spent in the country. I had the chance to explore Moscow and the surrounding area. From going to Tula for the day with two Russian students my age and an American peer from my program, to riding the exquisitely decorated metro to get yet another khachapuri, the opportunity to interact with the local culture, cuisine and people was invaluable."
