Anderson Collection at Stanford University

Group of visitors admiring multicolored sculpture art inside the Anderson Collection.

Experience one of the most outstanding private collections of modern and contemporary American art in the world, right here on campus. The museum was established by a generous gift from the Anderson family, donating the core of their private art collection to Stanford. Explore the work of some of the most well-known American artists—Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, Agnes Martin, Mary Weatherford and many more. Rotating exhibitions in the first-floor gallery further contextualizes the permanent collection. Public programs such as artist talks, live music, pop-up gallery talks, and film screenings are offered throughout the year. Free docent-led tours are available on Wednesdays and weekends. Admission to the museum is always free.
