Stanford West Children's Center

Temporarily Closed

As of April 10, 2020, Stanford West Children's Center (SWCC) has been closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During this closure, the university has taken the opportunity to evaluate certain elements of Stanford’s complex child care system. To achieve a consistent operational model across our child care centers, on August 31, 2020, the university terminated the lease arrangement with KinderCare. Families enrolled at SWCC have been notified of this change. Families on the child care waitlist can update their preferences and remain on the Stanford West waiting list. Ultimately, SWCC will reopen under the type of management contract model we have in place at our other centers. There are a number of logistical issues and questions that need to be handled before we can confirm a reopening date and future operator. Families enrolled or on the waitlist for Stanford on-site child care will be updated when more information is available.
