An advertisement in the Economist magazine says the job of executive director requires a doctorate, a working knowledge of Greek, and experience running a large organization.  

It probably also requires nerves of steel.

The current Greek economic crisis erupted after it was discovered that the nation's economic figures understated the nation's debt.

Athens is trying to fix the debt problem by slashing wages and expenses and boosting tax revenue.  The measures are so unpopular that they have prompted demonstrations and strikes.
