Alyssa's role in the library
I am cataloging the Denis Condon Collection of Reproducing Pianos and Rolls, part of the recently announced Player Piano Project. Initially I focused on the Welte-Mignon rolls in the collection, which represented some of the oldest and often rarest rolls found in the Condon Collection. My work and research while at Stanford will develop a guide for cataloging Welte-Mignon piano rolls, with a focus on the RDA in MARC environment. Currently I am cataloging Hupfeld piano rolls (mostly Triphonola and Animatic).

More about Alyssa
Prior to joining the Archive of Recorded Sound, I worked at Dayton Metro Library in Dayton, Ohio as a catalog librarian for audio-visual and Overdrive materials. Musically, I'm a pianist who also played the flute for many years. I'm a three-time US Department of Education Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowship recipient through the European Union Center at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
In the Bay Area I'm active in PyLadies, Girl Develop It, and Women Who Code. I'm also really into the intersection of data science and libraries. Recently I've begun blogging about my adventures in using R with some IMLS datasets (with a side of learning Slovenian for fun), check it out: Iskati blog.
