Curriculum Overview

Students will embark on an intensive 30-month program whose objectives are based on competencies expected of PAs (NCCPA - Competencies for the Physician Assistant Profession).  The training addresses 5 broad areas: 

  •     Didactic coursework (fundamental medical knowledge)
  •     Professionalism
  •     Multicultural medicine
  •     Clinical skills 
  •     Clinical clerkships
  • Upon completion of the didactic coursework (5 quarters),  students will begin 12 months of clinical clerkship within the Stanford Healthcare Community and in other select clinical sites.  Completion of a Capstone Project will be required prior to graduation.  Upon completion of the program, students will receive a Master of Science (MS) degree in Physician Assistant Studies.

Li Ka Shing Learning and Knowledge Center

The Li Ka Shing Center for Learning and Knowledge is the primary hub for the PA program's educational activities.  In addition to flexible learning spaces, the Center houses a student lounge and the most comprehensive health-care simulation training facility in the country.
