Director of Pre-Clerkship Education/Core Faculty
Nicole Burwell, PhD, PA-C
Dr. Burwell is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Primary Care. She currently serves as the Director of Pre-Clerkship Education for the Stanford School of Medicine, Master of Science in PA Studies program. Dr. Burwell previously served as a member of the PA program leadership team at George Washington University for more than 8 years. Dr. Burwell is a seasoned clinical PA with almost twenty years of experience in Internal Medicine and Occupational Health. She completed her PA training at George Washington University where she earned a MSHS. She also holds a Ph.D. from Howard University School of Pharmacy and Allied Health. Her research interests include Health Disparities and Nutritional Sciences with a focus on the pivotal role it plays in cardiovascular disease.

Andrew Chastain, MSPAS, PA-C
Mr. Chastain is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Primary Care. He currently serves as the Director of Clerkship Education for the Stanford School of Medicine Master of Science in PA Studies program. Mr. Chastain completed his PA education through the Stanford School of Medicine/ Foothill College Primary Care Associate Program and holds a Master's Degree in PA Studies from Touro College, School of Health Sciences. Mr. Chastain currently practices clinically at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Lucinda Hirahoka, MPH, PA-C
Ms. Hirahoka is an Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Primary Care. She completed her PA education at the Stanford School of Medicine/ Foothill College Primary Care Associate Program and holds a Master's of Public Health degree from San Jose State University. Professor Hirahoka’s clinical interest is in Family Medicine and providing health care to underserved communities. Clinically she works in primary care and volunteers at the Samaritan House Free Clinic in Redwood City. Professor Hirahoka is fluent in Spanish which helps her goal of improving health care access to the Spanish speaking communities.
