Education
Overview
The Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases offers training for all levels of medical trainees. The goal of these programs is to provide trainees with a broad clinical experience encompassing infectious diseases of otherwise healthy children, as well as infections in children with chronic and/or immunosuppressive disorders. The breadth of clinical syndromes also includes tropical medicine given our geographic area and active travel within our community. Clinical training is at the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford, and comprises both the inpatient and outpatient services. In addition, trainees learn about hospital infection prevention and control efforts, antimicrobial stewardship and diagnostic microbiology laboratory techniques.

Program Fellows
Talal Seddik, MD
Third Year Fellow
Dr. Seddik is a Child Health Research Institute member whose research focuses on the epidemiology, microbiology and outcomes of blood stream infections in children with short bowel syndrome. Dr. Seddik was honored with the Pediatric Residency Program's "Consult Fellow of the Year Award" in recognition of his exceptional teaching abilities.
Coralee Del Valle Mojica, MD, MPH
Second Year Fellow
Dr. Del Valle Mojica is a Child Health Research Institute member whose research focuses on host and viral risk factors for adenovirus infection and disease in solid organ transplant recipients.
Lourdes Eguiguren, MD First Year Fellow
Dr. Eguiguren joined our program in July, 2017, and her research focuses on the epidemiology of antifungal utilization among hospitalized children with cancer.
