About Us

The Division currently has over 19 full time faculty members in two sections, Hematology and Oncology. The Division's work bridges the worlds of basic science, clinical research and diagnosis, and the treatment of cancer. We are a recognized leader in clinical and translational research aimed at improving the lives of children suffering from hematologic diseases and cancer.

Senior faculty members play key roles in the Children's Oncology Group and in other national and international research consortia. All of the members of the division are actively involved in basic, clinical or translational research. With over 170 new oncologic diagnosis a year and a large number of referrals, we are the largest oncology center in Northern California and one of the largest on the West Coast.

Our program is also closely aligned with the Neuro-Oncology program led by the Department of Neurology and stem cell transplantation program led by the Division of Stem Cell Transplantation and Regenerative Medicine.
