SCRA Junior Tennis Clinic Information
The SCRA junior clinic program is a progressive plan where children move through the levels as their athletic and tennis skills develop. In all of our quick start classes we stress the A,B,C's: agility, balance, coordination and speed. Within each age group students are placed with others at the appropriate level. Students may register for one, two, three or 4 days per week. Registering for multiple days provides for optimum learning and improvement.

CLINIC PROGRAM:         QUICK START METHOD

LITTLE 10S/ PRE-K Ages 3 -5   Foam Ball / Red Ball

Introducing basic gross motor and athletic skill development in a relaxed environment. Development of general athleticism is more important for kids this age than tennis specific skills. We'll use fun games to teach kids how to throw, catch, track balls, and learn to move with good balance and posture. As players progress we will use modified tennis equipment to begin to apply these skills in a more tennis specific way. PLEASE NOTE: THERE IS NO ONLINE REGISTRATION FOR THIS CLASS. FOR SCHEDULE AND PRICING DETAILS SEE THE JUNIOR TENNIS PAGE ON THE SCRA WEBSITE.

RED BALL Ages 4 - 5 – Young children ages 4 and 5 are introduced to tennis in a fun and supportive way using scaled down courts and equipment. Each class uses a games based approach to tennis instruction with the emphasis on development of general motor and athletic skills.

RED BALL Ages 5 - 6 -Children ages 5 and 6 experience tennis in a fun and
supportive way using scaled down courts and equipment. Each class uses a games based approach to tennis instruction and the development of general motor and athletic skills. PLEASE NOTE: 5 year olds with no previous SCRA tennis experience should enroll in RED BALL ages 4 - 5.

ORANGE and GREEN BALL Ages 7 - 12

Juniors ages 7 to 12 get an introduction to tennis as well as reinforcing skills from previous clinics. Instruction emphasizes a systematic, modern, fun, games based approach and uses scaled down equipment and courts to allow juniors to achieve ball control and rally skills more quickly. When players in this program are ready they are invited to participate in weekly play days. Students "graduate" from the Quick Start program to our junior team.
