While we expect that you will have a positive and life-changing experience entering and becoming a part of the Stanford community, CAPS is here to support you for the unexpected personal surprises that may become challenging and difficult to handle.
The mission of the Stanford Healthy Body Image Program is to prevent the onset and relapse of eating disorders, facilitate treatment for students with current eating disorders, and foster a positive culture and environment for all students to achieve healthy weight regulation and enjoy a positive body image. We offer confidential online eating disorder screening, a suite of online self-help programs for improving body image, supporting healthy eating and exercise habits, reducing disordered eating behaviors, and changing body image/eating culture. The Healthy Body Image Program also provides in-person workshops, presentations, and other outreach events.
The SHPRC is committed to providing sexual health resources and peer counseling to Stanford students and promoting safe, healthy relationships across campus. We carry a wide variety of goodies, from different types of condoms and lubes, to vibrators, to a wide variety of books. We’re entirely student-run and funded, so all of our supplies and information are either free or very inexpensive. Drop by the center for all you need to know about sex and sexuality. The SHPRC also offers a class, EDUC 193S: Peer Counseling on Comprehensive Sexual Health (T, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.), which offers sexual health education and also qualifies students to become SHPRC counselors.
At Stanford Blood Center, part of the School of Medicine, our mission is to provide hope for the future: teaching tomorrow's leaders in transfusion medicine, researching to unlock mysteries inherent in blood, and connecting donors to patients every day. We support patients at Stanford Hospital and Lucile Packard Children's Hospital, along with several other hospitals in the area. Please give back to our community by donating blood; it's the gift of life.
