Welcome to the Stanford University School of Medicine Center for Continuing Medical Education!

A New Approach

The goal of Stanford's continuing medical education (CME) program is to enhance the ability of practicing physicians to deliver high quality, cost-effective care.

Our approach includes three fundamental elements:

  1. Educational content emphasizing evidenced-based best medical practice and emerging innovations in medical care;
  2. Curricula enriched by innovative educational technologies, modern pedagogical methods (e.g. interactivity), and team-based learning; and
  3. Delivery of learning opportunities in multiple formats, including live courses, simulation courses, regularly scheduled series, and online modules.

Our programs aim to assist the practicing physician in meeting the changing demands of education and practice within our evolving health care system. We strive to facilitate the physician’s efforts to maintain knowledge currency and to implement changes in practice conducive to improved quality of care and patient safety. We pledge that our offerings will be current, objective, and free of bias.

We hope that this website is helpful to our learners, faculty, and collaborators in presenting our offerings. Please let us know how we may better meet your medical education needs.

Sincerely,

Griff Harsh, MD
