After many months of planning, and several months of demolition, the construction phase of the project to replace Meyer Library is now underway.  The project is on schedule, and staff will move in to the renovated building, now known formally as Lathrop Library, in the summer of 2014.  The picture above, which shows work in the space that will house the East Asia Library, along with the selection of photos below, give a small taste of the extent of the project.

Lathrop Library, named after Jane Lathrop Stanford, is the building formerly known as GSB South, and affectionately known during the planning process as SUL North.  It is located at the corner of Lasuen Mall and Serra Mall, just off The Oval.  When complete, the building will house all functions currently housed in Meyer Library, including Academic Computing, the East Asia Library, Technical Services, and DLSS/ESP, as well as space managed by the registrar and VPUE.
