Admission

If you want to gain a broad foundation of business knowledge, learn from world-renowned faculty, and enhance your professional skills, SIGM is for you.

Eligibility

The SIGM curriculum is designed for non-business majors. You are invited to apply if you are a:

  • College sophomore, junior, or senior
  • Recent college graduate or graduate student who has completed an undergraduate degree no earlier than May 2013

By summer 2016, you must have completed two years of study toward a four-year undergraduate degree (three-year undergraduate degree for international students).

Time Commitment

SIGM requires a 100% time commitment for the duration of the program, including actively collaborating with your study groups outside of class and contributing to your team’s final project.

Academic Credit

Stanford GSB does not offer participants academic credit or grades for completing SIGM. Participants wishing to receive academic credit may petition their undergraduate institutions after completing the program.

While the program will provide participants with a strong understanding of business fundamentals and what to expect from an MBA education, SIGM participants do not receive any favored status when applying for Stanford’s MBA program.

Certificate of Completion

Upon completion participants receive a certificate of completion endorsed by Stanford GSB’s dean and SIGM’s faculty director. To successfully complete the program, participants must:

  • Attend all classes
  • Complete their assignments and group projects
  • Engage with their fellow participants in community-building exercises
