Streit Distinguished Service Award at the School of Humanities and Sciences Staff Recognition Luncheon, in recognition of her outstanding service to faculty, staff, and students. The Arnice P.

Annie Sherman (B.A., Music, '14) appears tonight as Sister Sarah Brown in Oakland Symphony's one-night-only production of Guys and Dolls, in Concert at the Paramount Theatre.

The results for the Stanford Symphony Orchestra 2017 Concerto Competition, held Saturday April 22nd, have been announced. This year's competition was open to all registered Stanford undergraduate and graduate students.

Associate Professor (Musicology) Jesse Rodin has been awarded a Frederick Burkhardt Residential Fellowship for Recently Tenured Scholars, with a residency at the Villa I Tatti (The Harvard Center for Italian Renaissance Studies in Florence, Italy) during the academic year 2017-18. This prestigious honor is bestowed by the American Council of Learned Societies, with the goal of supporting long-

CCRMA grad student Jack Atherton has been awarded a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship, which recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students in NSF-supported science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines. As part of this fellowship, Jack will continue his research towards designing an emotionally-aware programming development environment.

As part of the 48th annual ASCAP Foundation Deems Taylor / Virgil Thomson Awards last month, Kirke Mechem (Music, '51) received the Nicolas Slonimsky Award for Outstanding Musical Biography in the concert music field for his book, Believe Your Ears: Life of a Lyric Composer. The book was published by Rowman & Littlefield last year and will be released in paperback next February.  

Pianist and composer Eric Tran (B.A., Music, '13) will have his debut album release concert on Dec. 13 at the Center for New Music in San Francisco. Tran's all-original solo and chamber compositions will be performed by talents from around the SF Bay Area:
