Bess Weatherman is a special limited partner of Warburg Pincus LLC, a leading global private equity firm focused on growth investing with more than $45 billion in assets under management and 165 portfolio companies around the world.
Bess joined Warburg Pincus in 1988, became a partner in 1996, and served as a member of the Executive
Management Group from 2001 to 2016. She led the firm’s Healthcare Group from 2008 to 2015. Under her leadership, the firm invested in some of the most renowned and innovative health care companies around the globe including Bausch & Lomb, Lepu Medical Technology, and Kyphon.
During her 30-year career in health care, Bess has served on the boards of 12 public companies, more than 25 private companies at every stage of development, and the National Venture Capital Association. She currently serves on the boards of Wright Medical Group (NASDAQ: WMGI), Vapotherm, and Silk Road Medical.
Bess has twice been named to Forbes Midas List recognizing her as one of the 100 most highly regarded dealmakers
in the venture capital industry, and she was a recipient of the 2014 Women of Power and Influence Award from the National Organization for Women. She received a BA in
English, summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from Mount Holyoke College, and an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
