How to Fund Your Master of Arts in International Policy at Stanford

There are a variety of funding options for Stanford graduate students. While some limited funding opportunities may be available through MIP or our affiliated faculty, applicants are encouraged to carefully review the information on the Stanford Financial Aid website. If you need funding assistance, please be sure to check the box for “Fellowship/Assistantship Interest” on the online application.

MIP Funded Opportunities

Fellowships

Ford Dorsey and FSI Fellowships are offered to a limited number of incoming students based on merit and specific eligibility requirements. Fellowships may consist of full or partial tuition, a stipend, and a health insurance subsidy. You will be automatically considered for these fellowships upon checking the “Fellowship/Assistantship Interest” box on the online application. No separate application is needed.

Assistantships

MIP is able to hire a small number of second-year students as Teaching Assistants to support core courses, depending on programmatic needs. Additionally, some second-year students may be hired as Research Assistants to work with FSI or other faculty. The number of teaching and research assistantships vary year-to-year and are dependent upon curricular needs and availability of funding.
