The Stanford MBA Program’s candidate pool is ever-changing, so the composition of our entering class changes each year, too. With our class size, every student influences the class profile. The same holds true in our admission process.

In September, Stanford Graduate School of Business welcomed members from the Class of 2022 from around over 65 different countries around the world.

Class of 2022 Overview

As you review the MBA Class of 2022 profile1, understand that it’s simply a reflection of our current incoming class, and does not define the composition of a future class.

We assess each applicant based on their own merit. There are no quotas or targets in the Stanford MBA admission process for gender, ethnicity, or national origin.

We define diversity in the broadest sense. The class profile is intended to portray just a few of the dimensions that can shape your lived experience at Stanford GSB. Identity is multidimensional; as you consider some of the perspectives represented in the MBA Class of 2022, we invite you to reflect on the identities, intersections of identity, and experiences that contribute to your own world view.

International Students

The MBA Class of 2022 hails from around the world. Our international student community is comprised of: foreign nationals including DACA and otherwise undocumented in the U.S. (20%); dual citizens (11%); and U.S. permanent residents (3%).3

U.S. Students

In publishing details about our U.S. students, we seek to increase accountability and transparency around diversity and inclusion in the Stanford MBA Program, and ultimately to advance equity in our community. We view this as much more than counting numbers and checking boxes. These efforts are critical to our strength and excellence as an institution.

Education

We do not prefer a particular curriculum for undergraduate study, and there is no minimum GPA required for admission to the Stanford MBA Program. Average GPA is based on U.S. schools that use a 4.0 grading system.

Work Experience

Test Scores

There is no minimum GMAT or GRE score requirement, and we accept students with a wide range of scores. 75% of the class took the GMAT exam and 25% took the GRE. We consider all component scores for GMAT, GRE and TOEFL​.
