At Stanford GSB, you will also learn from a community of people eager to share their experiences and knowledge. Stanford’s residential environment was designed to foster these connections.

Stanford MBA students have three main residential options: Stanford GSB Residences, Stanford on-campus housing, or off-campus housing. Whether you are single, have a spouse or partner, and/or children, you’ll find a housing option that will enable you to take advantage of our integrated living and learning environment.

Stanford GSB Residences

The Stanford GSB Residences are situated directly across the street from the Knight Management Center and include two buildings — Schwab Residential Center and Jack McDonald Hall.

Stanford On-Campus Housing

In addition to Schwab Residential Center and Jack McDonald Hall, there are a number of alternaitve on-campus housing options:

Escondido Village is home to both single students and those with families, offering a tight knit community.
Munger Graduate Residences is situated in the heart of campus, giving you easy access to everything Stanford has to offer.
Lyman Graduate Residences is ideal for single MBA students, providing endless opportunities to develop lasting friendships.
Liliore Green Rains Housing is surrounded by lush landscaping, and is a part of a pilot program for gender-neutral housing.

Off-Campus Housing

Students who prefer to live off campus can select from a wide variety of nearby neighborhoods. Stanford’s Community Housing Services offers information and assistance to students wishing to live off campus, including subsidized off-campus apartments. A comprehensive portfolio of information is available by mail, free of charge, to admitted students. Other off-campus housing information is available online, in local newspapers, and through local property-management companies.

Munger Graduate Residences

Situated in the heart of campus with easy access to everything Stanford has to offer, Munger consists of studio and one- to four-bedroom units ideal for single students or those with partners or spouses

Lyman Graduate Residences

Ideal for single students, Lyman's two-bedroom apartments located on the west side of campus provides you with endless opportunities to develop lasting friendships

Liliore Green Rains Houses

Surrounded by lush landscaping, Rains is part of a pilot program for gender-neutral housing for 800 students that consists of two- and four-bedroom apartments ideal for single students

Subsidized Off-Campus Apartments

Furnished apartments located in nearby Palo Alto, Menlo Park, and Mountain View are ideal for those who are comfortable living off-campus

Community Housing Services can help you find rental homes or apartments in the neighborhoods near campus for those who are comfortable researching and securing their own housing

Timing Your MBA Program Application for Housing

Admitted students have the option to enter Stanford’s housing lottery. To meet the deadline for Stanford’s housing lottery system, you need to submit your application to the MBA program in the first or second round. If you apply in round three, you will be eligible for a very limited number of rooms in the Stanford GSB Residences, and will be waitlisted in the Stanford housing lottery.
