Founder/Managing Partner, Luv Ventures

Lars Dalgaard is the founder of the venture capital firm Luv Ventures and a board partner at Andreessen Horowitz. Previously, Lars was founder and CEO of SuccessFactors. After founding SuccessFactors in the midst of the worst tech crisis in history in 2001, he led the company to success and took it public on NASDAQ in November 2007. During the company’s 17 quarters on the public markets, it outperformed nearly every other technology stock including Apple. The company was acquired by SAP for $3.6B in 2012. Following the acquisition, Lars joined SAP’s board of directors and oversaw the company’s cloud business, where he directed $5B in acquisitions and grew revenue from $25 million to over $1 billion annually in just one year.

Prior to SuccessFactors, Lars held strategic marketing and management positions with Unilever and Novartis in several European countries and the United States. He served as Unilever’s youngest local company CEO at the time.

Lars holds a BA from Copenhagen Business School in Denmark and an MS from Stanford Graduate School of Business as a Sloan Fellow. A Danish immigrant, Lars has lived half of his life in Europe and half in the United States. He speaks seven languages: four fluent, three conversational. Lars is on the board of the nonprofit, Glide, an organization that manifests its mission of unconditional love and inclusion in the hardest hit economic areas of San Francisco.

Lars serves on the board of the following Andreessen Horowitz portfolio companies: Gigster, Imgur, Tenfold, Within, and Zenefits. He also led the firm’s investment in AltSchool, Reflektive, and Teespring.
