Off-Campus Subsidized Apartments
OFF-CAMPUS HOUSING RESIDENTS: PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT ROUTINE MAINTENANCE REPAIRS TO THE FIX-IT REQUEST SYSTEM. INSTEAD, GO TO YOUR PROPERTY PAGE AND FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS FOR REPAIR REQUESTS.
Stanford has secured off-campus leases at the following apartment complexes in Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Mountain View, and Redwood City to help meet the high demand for housing. These subsidized off-campus apartments will be offered along with the on-campus options in the Lottery application. These units will be furnished and your subsidized housing charges will include utilities and internet.
Please note the following:
- Sublicensing is not permitted within off-campus subsidized apartments.
- Stanford University does not allow pets of any kind in off-campus subsidized apartments, even if a property is pet-friendly.
- The same guest policy as on-campus apartments applies: No more than five consecutive days or five days total per quarter.
- All off-campus housing contracts are full-year options (autumn through summer quarters).
- Students will not be able to automatically renew their housing assignments in off-campus subsidized housing. However, we may be able to assign some off-campus students back into their same apartments. Students who would like to stay, should rank their current off-campus housing assignment as the first choice on their housing application.
- Students who are applying for the same category of housing and have one year of medium housing priority remaining, will receive a special assignment priority and will therefore be considered early on in the assignment process.
While off-campus housing options will be available to rank on the 2021-22 Lottery application, assignment to these spaces will be based on the overall applicant demand and COVID-19 related requirements. Because we do not know the number of spaces we will assign off-campus, students listing these choices should also rank on-campus housing options. It is important to note that students assigned to these off-campus complexes may have to relocate to campus during the academic year if demand for on-campus housing changes. Students will not be able to renew for 2022-23.
