PG&E is reporting a widespread outage affecting thousands of customers in Berkeley and many City buildings, including the Finance Customer Service Center and the Permit Service Center. Call respective City services for further details, or check the PG&E outage page. Power is expected to return by 12:45pm. Traffic lights that are not working should be treated as a four-way stop sign.

The City of Berkeley is committed to providing those who live, work, and visit the City of Berkeley with easy access to all City services and information.  The City's Customer Service Center includes a walk-in customer counter for transactions and information, a Customer Service Call Center and an Online Service Center for round-the-clock access to the services and forms that will help you do business at the City.

Customer Service CenterOur Customer Service Representatives are helpful, knowledgeable and provide excellent customer service.  The Customer Service Center is open for walk-in counter transactions, and provides customer service information from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday thru Thursday, subject to City holidays or reduced services.

The Customer Service Center is located at 1947 Center Street, 1st Floor, Berkeley, California 94704.  This location is across from MLK, Jr. Civic Center Park, between MLK, Jr Way & Milvia Street.

Residents can obtain or renew Residential Preferential Parking (RPP) annual permits, purchase visitor parking permits, pay refuse bills, purchase extra trash bags, order dumpsters, obtain animal licensespay parking citationscontest parking citations and pay most other City bills.  Businesses can also obtain or renew business licenses and pay most other City bills.

 

 

The City's Customer Service Call Center answers calls from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (closed for the 12:00-1:00 lunch hour), Monday thru Friday, subject to City holidays or reduced services.  Contact our Customer Service Representatives at (510) 981-CITY (2489) to get general City information, pay bills, report missed garbage pickups and more.
