Mac OS:
Current versions of Firefox, Safari, and Chrome. You may experience problems with this site if you use Internet Explorer since that browser is no longer supported on Macs.

Changing the Type Size on Your Browser

The Stanford Benefits site is set up so that you may change the type to whatever size is comfortable for you to read. Note that, depending on the browser version you are using, changing the type size might slightly affect the page layout.

For Windows Users:
Press and hold down the Control (Ctrl) button while pressing the plus (+) or minus (-) button. This will zoom in or zoom out of the page, depending on which button you use. To reset back to the default size, hold down the Control button and press the 0 button from the main keyboard (not the number pad).

For Mac Users
Press and hold down the Command (⌘) button, also known as the Apple button, while pressing the plus (+) or minus (-) button. This will zoom in or zoom out of the page, depending on which button you use. To reset back to the default size, hold down the Command button and press the 0 button from the main keyboard (not the number pad).

Downloading PDF Documents

There are two ways to view PDF documents on your computer:

  1. Adobe Reader plugin in a web browser
  2. Adobe Reader software by downloading the file to your computer

Both the viewer software and the plugin can be downloaded for free from the Adobe website.

To view a PDF document in your web browser:
Simply click on the link to the PDF document. If the plugin is correctly installed, the PDF document will appear in your browser. Note: if you are having trouble viewing PDF documents in your browser, try re-installing the plugin. If you have more than one browser program on your computer, be sure to select the correct one when installing the plugin.

To download and save a PDF document to your computer:
If you are having problems viewing PDF documents in your web browser, or if you would prefer to keep a copy of the PDF document, you can download and save a PDF document to your computer by right-clicking on the link to the document and then selecting "Save Target As..." from the pop-up menu and then save the document to your computer. MacOS users can do the same by pressing the Control button while clicking on the link, then selecting "Download Link to Disk" or "Save Linked File."
