Checklist for Newcomers

The quickest way to take advantage of what the Bechtel International Center (I-Center) has to offer you is to do the following:

• Complete the Spouse Registration Form at the I-Center to help us know your interests and refer you to relevant resources in the area.
• Pick up the quarterly Schedule of Classes, Tours & Programs for Spouses. Check the Bulletin Board at the I-Center regularly for the current programs and sign-up lists and enroll in any of interest.
• Subscribe to the I-Center Spouse Programs Newsletter and receive regular email updates of I-Center classes and programs for spouses. To subscribe, send an email (blank) to: icenter-spouseprograms-join@lists.stanford.edu
• Subscribe to the I-Center updates on other social and cultural programs and receive regular email updates. To subscribe, send an email (blank) to: icenter-social-join@lists.stanford.edu

I-Center Resources Overview

At the I-Center, we have a number of resources specifically geared towards helping families of international scholars get settled and establish their community while at Stanford. The following are a few of the resources that you can use to help you get important information, learn, and meet people with shared interests.

The Bulletin Board in the I-Center
The bulletin board provides information about classes and programs available for family members. Classes are given by spouses and members of the local community that volunteer their time. You are welcome to join the classes, or to share your talents, interests and culture with others through the I-Center.

Registration for Spouses and Partners
When you register with us, we'll be able to keep in touch more easily and keep you informed of important information and events relevant to you. Please fill out the registration form, so we know you are here. You can get the registration form at Friday Morning Coffee.

I-Center Classes & Programs
The I-Center hosts many classes and events for learning, socializing and just having fun. To learn about I-Center Classes & Programs, please take a copy of our schedule from the bulletin board.

The Friday Morning Coffee
To learn more about living in the Stanford area, and to participate in the I-Center programs, please attend the Friday Morning Coffee held every Friday, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., in the Assembly Room (across the patio, at the I-Center). At the Friday Morning Coffee you can:

• Fill out the registration form and return it to the I-Center staff.
• Get a current schedule of the I-Center classes & programs,
• Pick-up your copy of the current Handbook.
• Get to know others in the community and practise your English
