Jaimie Adelson (PhD in Neuroscience, '14) Indonesia - will research current education and beliefs surrounding the brain and brain injury and contribute to neuroscience education in Manado, Indonesia.

Elena Ayala-Hurtado (BA in English and Sociology, '14) Spain ETA - will help a community and devote a year to teaching and learn more about the culture that had such an influence on her own Colombian culture.

Jason Cieply (PhD in Slavic Languages and Literature, '15) Russia - will conduct archival research towards dissertation on representations of revolutionary enthusiasm in the works of Mayayakovsky, Zoshchenko and Platonov at the Smolny Institute of St. Petersburg, Russia.

Jessie Holtzman (BS in Human Biology, ’14) Argentina – will assess care utilization with juvenile onset bipolar disorder, including the role of stigma, cost of treatment, treatment availability, and trust of psychiatric professionals, through interview-based research at the University of Palermo.

Katherine Lee (BS in Human Biology, '13) Spain - will investigate the role of Wnt proteins in kidney regeneration at the Center for Regenerative Medicine in Barcelona as well as pave the way for a novel stem cell-based therapy to treat kidney failure.

Allison Mickel (PhD in Anthropology, '16) Jordan - will conduct ethnography with the Bedouin living in Petra, Jordan to assemble an oral history of excavations at Petra over the last 100 years as well as assess strategies for recording local interpretations of archaeological research.

Maia Mosse (BS in Human Biology, '14) Honduras - will implement and evaluate the effectiveness of Community Health Workers (CHWs) training patients in diabetes self-management on the island of Roatan, Honduras.

Ben Strauber (PhD in Neuroscience; MA Education, '16) India - will examine current uses of technology for education by students in urban and rural West Bengal and look at how it is used to build skills and opportunities and overcoming the limitations of internet access and language/culture.

Lauren Yapp (PhD in Anthropology, '16) Indonesia - will explore urban heritage protection in major cities, focusing on how, through this process, memories of the colonial past are renegotiated and aspirations for the improvement of urban life articulated.

Victoria Yee (MA in Sociology [Coterm]; BA in Asian American Studies, '13) Taiwan ETA - will apply teaching and curriculum writing background to an international setting and will contribute to the publication of children’s short stories in English.
