Stanford Students Going Abroad

STEP 1 REGISTER

Three registrations should be completed before you depart the U.S.:

1. Stanford's International Travel Assistance Program

2. Stanford's Office of International Affairs online Travel Tracker

3. Home government:

• U.S. students: U.S. Department of State's Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP)
• International students should register with their home country's embassy or consulate after arrival abroad.

In addition, enrolled students planning to travel abroad during the academic year may need to submit forms to the Registrar's Office.

Why should I register before going abroad?

Registration will help Stanford reach you in the event of any unexpected issues or events that may occur while traveling.
