Our team manages the service contracts that are outsourced for the academic buildings and grounds at Stanford University. Our Mission is to ensure that the services provided by our vendors are at the highest standard throughout the life of the contract. Our staff has extensive experience managing contracts of various size and scope of work. We strive to provide superior customer service to meet the needs of the Stanford community.

Service Contracts We Manage

Major External Service Contracts for Academic Buildings & Grounds
  • Janitorial Service: Provides base janitorial services that help keep the academic buildings clean and pristine for the University.
    C & W Services is the custodial service provider for the Academic Buildings of Stanford University. You may have been accustomed to seeing the DTZ logo which will be transistioning over to "C & W Services". DTZ and Cushman Wakefield have merged forming one of the largest facility service providers in the United States., Canada and Puerto Rico. C & W Services brings environmentally superior and socially responsible practices to the custodial services program by use of state of the art tools and equipment.

  • Trash and Recycling Services: Helping to manage and divert Stanford waste in the most efficient and sustainable way possible.
    PSSI- For over 50 years, Peninsula Sanitary Service, Inc. (PSSI) and the Stanford Recycling Center have served the greater Stanford University community with recycling, composting, and solid waste management services. In 2013, Stanford University diverted 64% of its waste from landfill through a comprehensive program of source reduction, reuse, recycling, and composting.

  • Elevator Maintenance Service: Managing and maintaining elevators systems throughout the Stanford campus.
    KONE is one of the global leaders in the elevator and escalator industry. The company is committed to understanding the needs of its customers, especially as it pertains to the special needs of a campus environment. For the past century they have provided industry- leading elevators, escalators and automatic building doors as well as innovative solutions for modernization and maintenance.

  • Pest Control Services: Provides preventative-maintenance of pest management and control throughout the university.
    Crane Pest Control- Serving Northern California since 1903 by providing professional integrated pest management programs. Maximizing Stanford's health protection against incursions of pest animals by using protocols, techniques, and materials that yield maximum effectiveness while demonstrating minimal adverse effects.

  •  Roofing Maintenance Service: Keeping roofing maintained and serviced, as well as providing leak detection and repairs.
    Western Roofing Service is one of the largest California based roofing contractors. Western roofing works closely with Contracted Services to provide the upmost care and satisfaction while protecting Stanford's assets from water intrusion and damage.

  • RO DI Water System Service: Providing treated water for research purposes on campus.
    Evoqua Water Technologies (formerly SIEMENS) Evoqua is Stanford's leading choice for providing solutions providing solutions to the worlds most fundamental resource: water.

Internal Service Contracts for "LBRE" (Land Buildings and Real Estate)
  • Vehicle Tracking Devices: Keeping track of of LBRE Vehicles to ensure safe practices, optimum use of vehicle location for work related tasks, emergency locating, quality control as well as monitoring and tracking data.
    Network Fleet: GPS Fleet Tracking Systems provide management systems that enable companies to track and monitor and manage their vehicle fleets providing a 360 degree view of all vehicles. Fleet managers can pull up data mapping data, receive alerts if vehicles are stolen or there is a problem with vehicles speed or performance.

  • Copiers: Covering the many printing, scanning and copying needs in LBRE Operations.
    Sharp: Sharp Products include a broad range of copiers, printers and document systems.
     

  • Uniform Services: Providing uniform and laundering services to the LBRE work force.
    Unifirst: Uniforms and service that enhance LBRE's professional business image and appearance. Providing work wear apparel, safety clothing, and services for the LBRE community.

Field Quality Service Inspections

The Quailty of work provided by the service providers we contract work with is of the upmost importance to us. So much so, that we employ a full time Quality Field Inspector. We consider inspecting the quality and maintenance of the services provided to be a full time job. We accomplish this by the regular process of on-going inspections, unannounced field inspections, visits to our clients and a check list of integral standards, to which we uphold our vendors to.

Meet our Staff

Kathy Sumner
Contracts Supervisor

Kathy began at Stanford University in the Spring of 1988 as a carrier for Mail Services. In 1996 she worked in building management at Gates Computer Science where she developed a fondness for working in facilities management. That passion launched the next phase of her career that began in Zone A in March 2001 and culminated in being promoted to contracts supervisor in October, 2014. Kathy enjoys spending her free time hours on campus attending events, swimming, enjoying the museum, picnics at the lake and meditating at Windhover.

Linda Fung
Contracts Analyst

Linda joined Stanford in January 2014 . She oversees several contracts managed by the group. She came from Impec Group, a Facility Maintenance Provider, where she worked as a Contracts Administrator managing service contracts from the proposal stage to the end of the contract and through renewals. She obtained her Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with concentration in Management from San Francisco State University. She was born and raised in Panama, so she is fluent in Spanish.
